#1 tubing and Shimano New 600EX component group, which was OEM. I concur with the cable routing comments, as it effectively eliminates the ability to ride on the hoods. Sue Notorangelo won the 1985 Race Across America (RAAM) on a Nishiki Tri-A. One of her modifications were aero brake levers, so I wonder if the original owner was trying to emulate her bicycle, on a budget.
