Di2 uses electric wires, not cables.

The system impervious to rain, mud and and continues to operate in the harshest conditions. Impervious means "unable to be affected by." This isn't something I've made up but widely understood and accepted by those who race and ride gravel and MTB in harsh conditions.

Someone else brought up disk brakes hence my mention of steep terrain.

I should have been more accurate and specified electronic in general, SRAM and Campy inclusive, not Di2 in particular.
