Set up with a freewheel and road drops with front/rear brakes atm but I was thinking of throwing on some bmx bars and gearing it low with a fixed cog for the winter. Basically turn it into an even lower maintenance comfortable cruiser for the cold ****ty weather. Anyone ever ride a setup like this? Whadya think?
Do I need a bmx specific stem if I’m using bmx bars and will said stem fit my fork steerer without issues? thanks.
Too goofy for me, I tried to put I think 6" BMX bars onto my FGFS SE bike. It felt pretty crappy even with a bike that's semi made for tall bars 4" is where I would draw the line I think. I settled on bars that were 60mm which I think is about 2.2" somewhere around there. And about 24" wide.
