Surly is a good choice and the Cross Check is a great bike so you should have no regrets. Take some time to post some more so we can look at your pictures. I'd suggest visiting the Introductions forum and telling us a bit about yourself. The Fifty Plus forum would also be a good place since you are a fellow mature rider.
