My wife and I spin when we can't do it in the real world (like now). My suggestions are centered around proper fit and social pressure. Make sure everything is set up properly on your spinning bike. It's not necessary that you push it to the limit in terms of spinning speed and resistance, just getting on the bike and keeping in reasonable shape is really what matters. I know, there's pressure to keep up with the 23 year olds, but be reasonable, make sure your spinning bike is set up correctly, and you shouldn't have any more problems than you do with your real world bike.
