After evaporust, I just use the components.
if they rust again, get stainless or replacement chromed parts(assuming it's bolts). Way easier thsn working to resave rusty older bolts.
as for your components, wd40 or whatever similar product would be easiest. Temporary, but simple to reapply when its cleaning time.
