Bikes: K2 (Marzocchi/Fox), Trek 6000 (red) MARS Elite up front, Specialized Hardrock Sport -> eBike (R7 Elite up front), lastly TREK 820 loaner. Recently sold Peugeot du Monde Record and 1956 Schwinn (owned since new).

I suspect that as long as you can stand over the top tube OK (?), it's a good starting point... Then comes seat post w/wo set-back, stem length and angle, lastly the bars.

Having ridden motorcycles for almost as long as I have ridden bikes (both over 50 years), I just can't do wrong bars. My wrists complain. Your shoulders and your lower back will tell you when it's all starting to come together
