I wear a Livall Helmet (livall.com) that has a microphone and speakers (as well as LED lighting including turn signals). The phone stays in its usual place on my belt.
The controls on the handlebar allow full device control and I use Android, so OK Google does all handsfree. I usually listen to music and have google maps on for oral directions when going to a new place. When riding with others, we connect the helmets like walkie-talkies so we can talk with each other at distance in a normal voice (no yelling), and although I have never tested it, if I fall over and do not move for 90 seconds it has an SOS alert that will call my family or emergency services.
While I could put the phone on the handlebar in front of me, there is no need. Phone calls, text reading messages, and Google Map oral instructions are perfectly adequate. Much safer to leave it in its magnetic clipped leather pouch.
PS: I am a customer, not associated with the company. Cost in NZ at Bikes and Barbers (the local ebike shop in my village) was NZ$200 when I bought it a year ago. Great accessory
