I've never seen this style before. Looks to me like a more conventional binder bolt that screws into its own cap won't work here and I want to confirm. Ah, I misunderstood. My Woodrup has more or less this same type of binder bolt configuration. It shouldn’t cause any problems down the road, just grease the bolt so it doesn’t seize in place. It should be a standard metric bolt, easy to find a replacement if needed. Correct that “a more conventional binder bolt that screws into its own cap won't work here.”
