It started off as basically taking a BMX and putting the handlebars forward and calling it BMX GPV.


But along the way people realized you could go way faster with fairings.

But the problem is not everyone has access to mountains or is willing to ride down them. But at the same time the BMX retailers wanted to sell more of these bikes. So they looked at bikes like the Hutch (Which is honestly a 20'' MTB) took the fairings off and created a band new sport called BMX Formula One which was circuit racing. This didn't last long as you mays well race a full sized road bike lol
