mine got sluggish/reluctant to get down into the smallest cog (but it did go) so I googled & youtubed 'till I was blue in the face. turns out there are lots of reasons for this. mine improved after cleaning & lubing but I may be replacing the cable & housing as well if it acts up again. good luck with yours
