There would be a lot of options. In theory an 8s Campagnolo derailleur (early 9s) + 9s Shifters will shift the 9s Shimano cassette better, although there was someone that posted having difficulties with that. Same should go with Campy 10 shifters + Campy 8s (early 9s) derailleur should also work with Shimano 10s cassette.

Assuming Mavic hubs, a Campy freehub may be available. I've also had some luck with swapping sealed bearing freehubs between brands. Or, one could swap rear hubs.

Or, of course, sell or repurpose the Mavic wheels and get the ones one wants.
