with a 5mm bolt of any given style of head, there are only so many sizes of hex wrench that would fit. I'm sure someone has tried to establish a standard, but if so, they failed. Same is true with SAE threaded hardware. At one job, we had a bin with 10-32 socket head cap screws where there were two different size hex wrenches needed depending on which bolt you grabbed.
