This is the second time in this thread that someone said that a LBS that won't face ti is inexperienced. I'm not quite understanding where this comes from. Ti is hard on facing tools. We have established this on this thread, it has been backed up by Barnett's bicycle institute (I read the book so I know what it sais). I have consulted with a couple other professional mechanics, one who works in Bike Builder at QBP, they all agree. Most people agree that Ti frames should be faced from the factory, Litespeed has backed this up. Why then is it that a LBS that chooses not to face ti is somehow inexperienced? Choosing not to face ti is a good business decision. Choosing not to face ti is also the nice thing to do since it is in the best interest of the customer, why charge them for something that they don't need. I say that a shop that faces ti is inexperienced.
