Just go into a shop and ask them if they have the Schwinn tool and will take the arm out for you. It is not worht buying the tool for one use and it is a pain in the but to push the tension spring in far enouogh to get the pin(look at it from the bottom) out of the tube without it.
While I would never put a kickstand on a bike* it is pretty handy to have one.
*OK, I did it once. It is great, roll up to the bagel shop, flick the stand and go in. No looking for a rack or leaning against something hoping it won't fall over.
