Yeah, I just almost finished building my wife a Hybrid on an aluminum frame with an air fork. Only missing the rack now. She loves it. 24 lbs all up and ready to go. She's never had anything that light before. She keeps talking about forks that work, acceleration, handling - stuff she used to not talk about at all



Not an actual mountain bike, but she'll take it on a fair number of trails and use the gears.

If your wife wants more aggressive stuff, there are plenty frames with lugs for disc brakes and lots of tire clearance for 27.5's
