I used to live in Denver - not quite as high as the Springs, but the sun was enough to keep exposed skin pretty dark all year long!

My 112 was a Santa Ana wind event in Southern California (inland Orange County), when I happened to be done with work right in the middle of the day. There were two days that actually broke the existing temperature records. Since it was so dry, everything cooled off just fine at night - which was good, as we did not have AC or a swamp cooler.
