A 25" fork would be fine, even something like a UO8 - I just picked up a 25x1 die so I can thread it down

Important thing is maintaining the excessive tire clearance so I can put on larger tires and fenders.

Just seeing if anyone has an extra fork laying around - started going down the repair path but first try was a fail.

Ok, I found a welder guru locally that will splice a steerer to this fork, and I also have a 25x1 die on the way (to cut the french threads), so now I just need a donor steerer, probably 6' would be fine.

French would be better, but seems to me a std one would work (unless I shouldn't cut 25x1 threads on a std steerer because the deeper threads would overly weaken it)

Anyone with a bad fork but good steerer?
