Yes, you nailed it. 10 Years in navel aviation as a mech (F-4S and F-14A), followed by a bit of school then 18 years at Lockheed Martin in support of the US Navy's submarine rescue program at North Island Navel Air station. I worked with DSRV-1 Mystic, DSRV-2 Avalon, DSV-3 Turtle, DSV-4 Sea Cliff, DDS, and various other obscure projects. Now I work for Caterpillar doing development work on industrial gas turbine engines. It's been quite a ride .

Submarine rescue always brings to mind the Glomar Explorer, I know, it was a mining ship... yes, of course.
