I think if its just about aesthetics, Ill wait to trim the axle until I get a new frame. Like I said, Im currently riding a fuji track frame that I've had for a few years. I've swapped out so many things by now though that the frame is about all that's left of the original bike. Now I'm in the market for a new frame to match the quality of some of the other components (I'm leaning towards a wabi special but that's for a different thread). I'm not 100% sure yet that I won't go for some sort of vintage road find though. So I think Ill just leave the axle alone for now, just in case.
I don't really mind the look of them anyway. You guys can feel free to dock my fixie points accordingly

i ride a ss, so I’ve never had any fixie points. If you go for a vintage road frame, it will most likely have 126mm spacing. Unless ‘vintage’ to you is late 80s/early 90s, which will most likely be 130mm. Using a 120mm spaced hub, you can ‘pinch’ in the dropout spacing down to 120 simply by hand tightening the nuts, because it’s only 3mm per side. You shouldn’t need any more axle than what’s necessary for 120mm spacing. I can see though why you’d maybe want to respace the hub out to 126mm if that’s the case, since your hub has that capability, but I would argue it’s unneccessary. Either way, it’s just a friendly FYI. it’s your gear, so you do you. Cheers.
