I let it sit about 15 minutes between coats of paint. Got 2 coats of paint/clear outta a can. I would suggest at least 2 cans of each. I also did 2 coats of primer, let it dry for about 1.5 hours, then sanded it down REALLY gently with 800 grit sandpaper, then did the 2 coats of paint, sanded that down and did 2 coats of clear, wet sanded that down.
