I suggest EU should themselves subsidize the move away from combustion engines. It is not clear to me why bicycles are targeted and apparently not scooters.
You need to be a little careful here. If you read the articleto which you linked, it correctly says that tariffs start at 23%, and that the higher tariffs are for the companies who did not respond to their request for information. and who are dumping bikes. Yes, the EU certainly does use imported components in their locally manufactured bicycles, so this isn’t really aimed at them. Also, most EU countries have programmes offering both support and financial assistance to those who buy electric bikes.
