Bikes: It's complicated.

No one's mentioned what appears to be an Ironman safety sticker on the handlebars? [MENTION=108582]RobbieTunes[/MENTION], can you confirm? This would mean that this bike was ridden in an Ironman sanctioned event, perhaps even the Big Kahuna. I also see evidence of other stickers that may or may have not been safety stickers from other races.

BITD triathlons used to require bike inspections and a "safety sticker" would be applied as proof. Often they would outsource this to one or more LBS's in the area as a free service. It got them into the shop, and gave them an opportunity for a sale. Lots of helmets, shoes, repairs, shorts and jersies were sold that way.
