That is useful info, thank you, sir. I find a rare pair of 10s Daytona shifters for $ 304 shipped. I might bite the bullet and buy them, because the 10s cable pull and spacing is identical, as far as I know. I am definitely not the type of person to replace pulleys and modify stuff, as I always screw up badly, and LBS does not want to help me, no matter the money. If I send the Chorus 9s lever to be upgraded to 10s, I guess I can still use it with the 9s setup, as I have a fairly new 13-26 cassette, and 4 chains for 9 speed to wear out. I am a "steel is real" type of rider, and I prefer metal to any polymer, this is the reason I avoid 11s, not only the cost. I know Powershift is quite poor on bad roads, as my friend`s brand new Centaur black&red shifters just fell apart due to the extreme vibrations on rough roads. One can still find silver Athena, that is all-metal, but the prices have skyrocketed. No matter what I buy, I must decide fairly quickly, as stocks won`t last.
If you were me, would you buy the 2001 Daytona 10s shifters? I guess they are G-spring ultrashifts, and they should work with my current setup - a Chorus medium cage, all aluminimum version, and a Chorus CT front derailleur. I also found some silver, metallic Veloce QS shifters with the older logo, but I am not sure they are Ultrashifts.
