Used to live in Oxnard, and had strawberries a block from my house. Used to get a flat of berries for nine bucks. I bike-commuted to work (Naval Base) and the workers would be out in the fields in the morning as I rode by.

They are still out there. The amount of vegetables, fruits and produce generated from Oxnard is just amazing. A true salad bowl.
