Chain and Padlock? You've GOT to be kidding.

FWIW The ONLY Lock and Chain setups I'd suggest to anybody are the Kryptonite NY Chain w/EV Disc Lock (I use this)

and the Kryptonite New York Fahgettaboudit

As far as your insurance question: I do both, and I still have my bikes.
