Yesterday it was ice,
all over the roads, from the rain/sleet/hail we got the day before. I rode my bike from the bus stop to work very carefully.
We rarely get this kind of ice, so everyone forgot how to drive and crashed into
everything. Including the
Eureka Slough bridge; right behind the guy in the pic the top third of the concrete railing was gone for about 3 feet, and a piece of steel railing had been nailed across the gap. What makes it really impressive is that 4 foot wide walkway is raised about 10". I would have loved to stop my bike and get a pic, but that is a
very bad place to stop.
ETA: Actually, looking at it again yesterday, it's the top
two thirds of the rail that's missing, with bent rebar sticking out. Jinkies!
