Leather saddles aren't for everyone. If you are a rider who slides all the way forward or back you may well find that sitting on leather stretched over steel isn't very comfortable. I do both. I rode a high end Japanese leather saddle on a good ride 35 years ago. When that bike got stolen. it was sad, but it meant I no longer had to "ride the rivet" literally.
