Another is that every bicycle movie has to have a crash (this one has two).
The first is a cliche where he wasn't looking and collided with the girl who came up behind him, but the second was completely lame. Anyone who handled the bike as well as he did in the first part of the film would have been able to brake safely to a stop descending that hill before he crashed through the billboard.
