Hiya, I have a Raleigh Alpine ladies bike and for a while I’ve been having some problems with the gears. I’ve tightened up the rear cable and got it working again but I’m having trouble with the front gears.

I’ve done what they say in so many YouTube videos and I still can’t get it right

Whilst in middle gear on the front I pull the cable right and fasten. It’s tight when it’s on high gear but when I switch to low it becomes loose, also doesn’t even change gear at all.

- the front gear cable is still in a good condition despite fraying a little on the ends now where I’ve pulled it tight so many times
- the gear shifter has been altered and looks right
