Hopefully the little sign platforms are telling drivers to slow down or stop for cross traffic. Put that here with no control and half the traffic would be rushing through, with some well-intentioned drivers stopped and waving you on into them.
The black/white poles with flashing yellow lights indicate that the crossers (peds/cyclist/horses) always have right of way.
Just don't confuse your crossings (Pelican, Toucan, Zebra, Puffin and School).
