If you don't have precise requirements of design type, frame/fork material preference, finish type, frame size, wheel/tire sizes, service loading, brake type, drive-train type/spacing, mudguard clearance, accessory braze-on fittings, budget and timeline get all of that nailed down before communication with a builder.
