We don't have bomb cyclones, but we do have Alberta clippers. It's when a cold blast of air blows in from that direction.
According to the nets, bombogenisis is a pressure change event not a temperature change event though I suppose the two could happen simultaneously. We will not be expecting cold than normal temps with this.
