Bikes: Rivendell Sam Hillborne, 1982 Team Fuji

REALLY late to the party

Got myself an '82 Team Fuji last month.
It looks a whole lot like the bike Chrome Moly posted photos of, but with brown/cream stripey handlebar tape.
I got it to modify. It has all the original parts, and they work fine, and I'm saving them in a box, but it is going to have Shimano Sora 9-speed drive and brifters, Shimano 105 brakes, Velocity hubs, etc.
I ordinarily ride a Rivendell Sam Hillborne. Since I live literally ON the Silver Comet Trail (Rails-to-trails that runs from Atlanta, GA to Birmingham, AL), I decided I wanted to try a road bike.
I'm going to keep the original UKAI gold wheels, add the Velocity hubs and learn to lace a wheel. Then put a 9-speed cassette on, etc.

I'm a fan of lugged steel, as the "Rivendell" comment indicates.
First a tried a '77 Peugeot UO-8. This bike did not "feel" very good. The Team Fuji was the third frame I tried, and it was a sweet ride (even if it wasn't a perfect fit). A new stem and bar and it feels really good. Now to get to work.
Purchase price for a 1982 Team Fuji with all original parts except seat and pedals...$140
