I've been fine tuning my Centurion Turbo for Eroica CA. I put salmon KoolStops on the NGC 400 brakes with cleaned and lubed original cables and housings and levers. They work. Yesterday it was raining and I took out my fendered PX-10 with Mafac Racers, KoolStops, with new cables and housings. What a difference--lighter lever action and better modulation. I know I could improve my Dia-Compe brakes with new cables and housings but if they will never work as well as the Racers, I am not going to bother. The new pads didn't help as much as I hoped. Maybe I should have gotten the black replacement pads.
