First, that would have to be one heck of a saw blade to get through triple heat-treated boron manganese steel that and you'd need a LOT of time. Second, if the owner of the bike had half a brain in his head he'd inspect the lock and locking point prior to commiting his bike. Several forum members have been leaving thier locks at work for years with no problems so I don't think he'll have a problem. Third, bike theft is a crime of opportunity, if there are easier pickings to be had they'll go elsewhere. If there is a $400 bike locked up with a cable lock or a cheap (ie: Bell) U-lock and the $1000 spanky bike on the same rack 99 times out of 100 they'll take the bike that's easier to get. Personally I have a serviceable but less expensive bike to use as my commuter, and I keep my expensive baby at home.
