Hi David -

I've left my car and/or truck quite a few times in small towns. The key is to choose a small town and give yourself a little time. Surely, a filling station owner will "store" your car out back for something like $5 a day - which is $70 for two weeks. My experience is that if I have them do a tune-up or something, they don't charge for storage. I've also stopped into cafes and asked the cook/owner and she said, "Just park it out back and I'll keep the keys locked up in the office." Of course, my vehicles tend to have old "Nixon" bumper stickers on them - so if you have a pricey ride, you may not want to do this. But, as I said, if you pick a small town, folks will be more than helpful. They might scratch their heads and wonder why you plan to spend a couple of weeks on a bicycle, but they'll just laugh and help you anyhoo.

Best - J
