All kinds of good suggestions, and probably I'll get torched for this, but I got a Bikes Direct cruiser for my daughter (she wanted an electric bike, and they had one without a front fork for very cheap and I was fitting a front fork and hub motor anyway), and I was surprised by the quality of the frame and most components.
