Strong bikes were a concern back then, kids actually wore things out in those days. On my stingray back then, I loosened all the spokes in my rear wheel from torquing it out, plus broke the steel stem from pulling on it. Wore holes in the knees of my pants like crazy. Summer was a long three months, plus riding to school and after school. Good times ..
