I'm with you on this. The reason I'm going is to meet up with and ride with a lot of old and new friends. The start is staggered in smaller groups, last year I was only riding with a large group of riders for the first 10 miles or so. Riding centuries in years past I remember having to sort through all of the newbies riding all over the road. The Eroica events self-filter to the more seasoned riders. I'm skipping the dinner this year in lieu of a smaller group.

Oh, and all of that vintage steel to oogle at...
