Tube for a 29" Hookworm... drill to Schrader?
So I have a marathon supreme on my 29" unicycle, and wanting to try something a little bigger ordered a 29" hookworm as the price was right and in the hope that it would have a little more steamroller stability like my bigger 36" wheel does. I know the 29" Hookworm works on my rim and for unicycling as a friend has it on the same rim.
But my rim is currently drilled for presta, and I'm not seeing a lot of tube options that officially range to 2.5" in presta at 29". Everything else I have is schrader, I'm certainly never going to go narrower than the 2" marathon, and I already use an adapter on it rather than flip my pump head around.
Seems like one option would be to just drill out the rim, and use a bushing if I ultimately decide to go back to the marathon and its 1.75-2.3" presta tube.
Or I can find a 27.5x2.5-3 presta tube and stretch that in diameter to fit over a 622 rim.
Or I can just hope for the best with a 2.3" tube, or one I saw that says 2.4"
Will momentarily airing up a 1.75-2.3 tube to moderate pressure inside the 2.5" tire to check brake clearance before taking the project further have any lasting effect on it?
