Actually I'm running a cable caliper brake, other half of the set I got to put one on 36er where I found it fine, and I need to remove the handle and brake cable for transport and storage after rides anyway.
Situation on the KH frame is an ugly kludge of a bolt-on mount as they now support nothing but discs which I don't want to deal with. Only reason I have the KH at all is to hold a Schlumpf geared hub, though in retrospect anything aluminum would have worked - the aluminum can't take the toque on the alignment keys so it's ultimately just a friction hold anyway.
If the tire doesn't fit the brake I may take the brake off to evaluate the tire some on flat local rides but really did appreciate it as a knee saver on longer ones with hills. By itself the tire is an affordable experiment and it may be that it doesn't suit my goals anyway - but a chain reaction of supporting changes could add up quickly. The marathon setup was just too skittish in high gear to trust on the hidden bumps of our rail trail so after a disheartening fall did most of last year's long rides on a plain 36er (with vivid memories of surviving several late-corrected mistakes where I know I'd have been on the ground on the smaller unicycle), but trying to see if I can figure out something that works for the original goals of easier mounting, making long rides a little less taxing, and to potentially take out of state by train. Almost think about rebuilding as a 32 to get the scaled down Nightrider tire, but an easy cadence makes the geared up 29er go about as fast I want to risk, and it starts to get big to transport again.
