Ah, the Competion. I thought it was a different model.

I'm not sure about the top tubes on all Dutch bikes but it certainly does seem to be the case on Batavus bikes from that era. non-fixie might be able to give you a better answer because he has a bigger sample size.

I've been meaning to measure the rest of my bikes to compare them like this:

Link: Batavus Randonneur GL geometry - BicycleCalculator.co.uk.

Key Metrics
• Trail 34mm
• Wheel Flop Factor 8.9mm
• Head tube Angle 74°
• Seat Tube Angle 72.8°
• Virtual fork angle 8.966°
• Bottom Bracket Drop 70mm
• Bottom Bracket Height 265mm
• Wheelbase 1030mm
• Seat Tube Length c-t 640mm
• Effective top tube 565mm
• Reach 373mm
• Stack 616mm
• Seat Middle - Bottom Bracket 238mm
• Fork Length 385mm

Though I am not entirely sure if these measurements are correct anymore. I believe I remeasured a while ago and came to slightly higher trail.
