You really need to keep on top of what's happening in your area and not let your ideas stale. Right now I'm seeing more schools trying to start repair programs. Maybe tapping into them can give you a resource for volunteers and the kids a spot to get community hours. Trips for Kids has survived by keeping themselves significant. My father in law was a community organizer. His fundraising success was tied to his ability to tie companies and prominent local families to projects he was working on.
