Thanks KCT - I guess the natural follow-up question is where to get a barrel adjuster that operates in the manner you described. The bike shop I went to to get a replacement gave me something that's designed for a threaded caliper mount. In other words, there's no adjuster nut that moves independently of the shaft. Is there a model/brand that manufactures these kinds of barrel adjusters today? Seems the like Dia-Compe stuff is mostly aftermarket and not produced anymore (right?).
