That's because 4 out of 5 Campy aficionados acquire their equipment at Goodwill and never find anything above Triomphe Jokes aside, Triomphe's design could be said to complement the chainring just a bit better than Victory - I can see that.

On a practical note, the Victory group's RD (with its three-position adjuster; admittedly, fragile) does put the Triomphe RD's near-vertical position to shame for function. I still don't know why Campag decided to make the Triomphe RD point nearly straight down on the 1010A/B dropouts - functionally, Triomphe was just another cosmetic restyling of Nuovo Record / Nuovo Gran Sport. There was no reason to call on the near-vertical position of the 1960's Gran Sport for it, combined with the Record-style pulley cage (which, in effect, moved the upper cog even farther rearwards).
