In my opinion there are so many disadvantages .... firstly the batteries only last a couple of years and then you're into buying a whole new unit for around £15/20 as oppose to a new Eneloop for £2 which will last you another few years ... I'm not surprised the manufacturers love them and are stopping producing AA ones as you have to keep buying their products.
Also I always carry a spare battery whereas with the internal ones if you've forgotten to charge it or are on a ride and it goes you're buggered ....AA or AAA just swap the batteries for a fresh set ... just my 2p's worth on the subject
I hunted around this morning and I've managed to find a 2nd hand Rapid 3 so have gone with that but thanks for everyone's input.
