My official platform calls for bringing back bar-cons, and promoting friction... friction shifters, that is. And establishing inclusive policies towards alternative drive-trains. The Alenax crowd might just give enough support to help me build a winning coalition.
Now that's a platform I can get behind! BTW, my Dahon folder, in its current configuration for post-Easter riding in the FL panhandle, is strictly a 2X9, bar-con equipped, friction shifting, speed demon! And it doesn't look as if I'll finish the extreme makeover on my alternative drive-train 54 speed 2X9X3 SRAM Dualdrive Cannondale before I depart.

@jj1091, what about tax cuts for those of us who continue to use friction shifting? I understand that it significantly reduces wear and tear on highway infrastructure.
