Not true. A tiny pebble can cause a dismount if you hit it at the right angle. As said, straight and level and you'll likely not be in any danger. But the slightest lean or angel could be catastrophic. Bananas peels are very slippery when they're fresh.

Still, I can't dismiss hour contact path theory completely since that did save me when I inadvertently stepped on a peel and it was crushed in before I totally lost my balance.
