A few comments:
1) Don't drink the water out of the creeks, streams, and rivers!!!!! Drink the water from pumps ... and specifically those which do not have warning signs on them.
2) Here's the Parks Canada site:
http://www.pc.gc.ca/index_e.asp, and Banff National Park in particular:

3) Regarding fees, if you are going to be in the national parks for 3 weeks (21 days), I'd go for an annual pass which is $55 each. That would work out to $2.61 per day ... a lot less expensive than $8/day!!

BTW - the fees site above also provides you with a list of campground prices.
4) I don't know how you are getting into the park, but I would assume that you'll be coming from Edmonton, Calgary, or Vancouver ... whichever way, you'd buy the annual pass when you go through the park gates. Carry it with your passport and other paperwork because you may have to produce it now and then (like if you go into a manned campground). If you were to go with a daily pass (because you are independently wealthy and like throwing money around???

) you would have to find a park ranger every day and renew it.
5) Regarding shipping stuff ... if you buy your groceries in Edmonton, Calgary, or Vancouver and mail them into the park somewhere, I would think that would cost a minimum of $5 per package, and more, of course, if the package is at all heavy. (The charges for mail have increased again this month.) In addition to that, you'd want to mail things at least a week in advance to ensure that they will be there.

The link above gives you an idea of prices, and there's also an additional like which will give you an idea of how long things take to get from one place to another.
So, if you were sending just a package of 10 Lipton noodles, for example, it would likely end up costing a total of $15 instead of just the $10 you paid for the noodles ... which would be about the same as buying them there.
One more thing ... what time of year were you thinking of going?
